Kata Beach Phuket

What can we say about this beach? As popular with locals as it is with visitors and tourists your first glance at Kata Beach will answer the question. Real white soft sand sits gracefully upon a small beach (about 1.5 km) and hosts all the popular windsurfing type beach activities. Certain parts of the year attract the locals as the surfing here can be very good, while other times glorious yachts can be seen moored just a short distance away and many at Kata Beach have the distinction of competing in the famous Kings Cup Regatta in December each year.

With plenty of Palms and trees lining the beach especially in the much sought after southern end you will always find plenty of places with natural shade. A good number of resturaunts are strategiccal placed serving a whole manner of food from around the globe along with the freshest local fruits and seafoods.

Kata Beach

If there is one place in Phuket that you are going to dine then it has to be Mom Tri’s Boathouse located right on Kata Beach. Not only does the Boathouse have superior accommodation but the French and Thai cuisine is to die for.

Kata Noi Beach

Away from the beach an early evening walk Is recommended through the pleasantly easy going town centre. Plenty of good shopping is to be had for souvenirs, real leather handbags and kitchen type trinkets and maybe a brief stop for a well needed foot massage!

Kata Beach nightlife has a little of everything from gentle café style beer bars, to bars dressed in pretty girls, to beach style offerings. There are also a number of places to shoot some pool while enjoying your favourite sport on normally large and crytal clear widescreen TV’S. An alternative night scene is also in attendance and is mainly situated on the Kata Beach road which runs along the back of the actual beach. Hollywood bar, Robert Bar with Live music and the Kata night bazzar which is has an entire circle of bars to cater for those who like the company of a beautiful lady!

Kata Beach for families and couples.

Much of Kata Beach however is targeted at Families and couples, with the renowned Dino Park mini golf attraction just one perfect way to get the kids (and you!) off the beach for a while.

Heading away from Kata Beach toward Rawai and Nai Harn, Kata Noi Beach is possibly the best beach in Phuket. If there is one classic photo from your Phuket holiday you want to adorn your living room wall, then is one afternoon when you don’t want to forget your camera…
